Mauser Oberndorf sporter action with long cocking piece and pear-shaped bolt handle, original Rigby patent peep sight mounted on cocking piece, maker's name engraved on barrel with the 72 St. James's Street address (until 1908), trigger guard engraved with Rigby serial No. 3059 of 1908, bolt handle struck with serial No. 4624 of 1920, apparently type A Mauser subsequently altered on the continent for the .375 H&H Mag.
