Obviously a Skopar "Beta" by Voigtländer, Brunswick, Germany. This scope was advertized by Westley-Richards in their 1912 catalog, page 137, at 12 pounds 12 shillings, mounted on any W-R rifle. To me the mount looks like a homemade job, using some leftover parts. It is very unusual to have windage adjustments both front and rear. Those soldered-on half-rings are of different width and finish. The base was probably meant to be soldered to the rib or barrel of a break-open or falling block, maybe a rook and rabbit rifle. Certainly the mount was added later, not by W-R. |
