Should I buy this??

I thought I would share this with you all.

This rifle was built by Ron Webb of Queensland, Australia and was engraved by his son Scott as a Hunting rifle for Scott himself.
Some of you Queenslanders may be familiar with it.

Sadley both are now deceased.

I do not normally buy other peoples projects, but just maybe this ought to be the exception.

The action is a genuine Commercial Mauser with all matching numbers, and arguably better for the work you see before you.
The barrel is an octagon profile with full length integral rib, and is like new.

The Wood is not exhibition grade, but none the less has nice colour and figure. It has only minor bumps and bruises.

In my considered opinion it should have been built as a 9.3x62, not the the 338WM we see. However that was Scots calibre of choice.
The engraving is very nicely executed ( I believe Scott trained in Italy), however the Tiger may be considered a little naive, almost in the" Jeffery" style, but now Im really searching for faults here.

This is an excellent piece of gunmaking by a genuine Aussie, and stands head and shoulders above the normal range of " custom" rifles put together ( assembled) by most gun mechanics.

Priced at AUD4500, this represents a lot of rifle for the money, and its not hard to fiqure what its replacement cost would be today.

All opinions welcome.

Best
Eric
