Here's an enigma: an Oberndorf Mauser which, judging from the numberous visible pits, looks as though it was buried at some point and dug up, with a non-factory barrel in 8X64, and a laminated stock, which the proud seller describes as being made from "nobly figured light colored stock wood", and a one piece banded front claw mount base the like of which I have never seen before. This rifle is being bid up far above its apparent value, for some reason I can't fathom: http://www.egun.de/market/item.php?id=4517157

The seller has evidently had some problems with truthfulness in the past, judging from his feedback. His user name is not particularly trust inspiring: bettphannenchef (bed pan manager).
