I would think the 404 would be rarer. Mine seems to be a working class gun, has nice wood but not exceptional, double crossbolts through the stock and all the usual features you would expect on a 98. It is a nice practical rifle. The barrel has done virtually no work. I was thinking in the vicinity of $800-$1100. Thoughts?
