Saw this thread was being read and decided to add to it.

Was shooting my rifle in the BGRC National Competition in Darwin earlier this month.

I think it was the group 1 competition shoot. Last six shoots. Hot day, barrel already hot from the rounds put through it. Shoot off first round ... barrel vibrated funnily .... heard and metallic tinkle .... next shot .... oops, front sight is missing

.... kept shooting, sitting in the V site, raising the muzzle until I could see it, drop it down and pull the trigger.

Managed to put 2 out of the last 5 rounds into the target ....
