Yep!
That is the quick way to tell.
The crossbolt is right in line with the rear edge of the front ring because the lug for the front action screw is in the middle of the receiver ring underside.
On a standard length action, it will be right in the middle of the front ring as the lug is located farther forward.
That is why the bottom metal screw hole spacing is the same on both the standard and magnum actions.
