Walther Röll was the head of the Mauser Obendorf Sporting Arms Department from 1932 to 1946. After war he made his own business 1946-1965. He made up and repaired Mauser Sportting rifles and used Mauser factorys remaining inventory and leftover parts.

His own markings ("WR" or "W Röll Obendorf") could find near the caliber markings or underside of the barrel.
