They are identical because they are both TypeA Mausers in 9.3X62.
It wouldn't be unusual for Heyer to order guns for stock in batches and the 9.3X62 was a very popular all around rifle for Africa in those days.
That is a very nice rifle indeed, even without any connection to Osa Johnson.
