My Mauser actioned Sporter i am buying.( Bloody PTA, 1 month waiting period).

No makers marks, Coulour case hardened.
Twin set trigger & stock have been replaced with a 1909 Magazine/floor plate.

Has anyone have info on non marked 98 based sporters? Pre WW1 sporter?
I will get some better pictures when i get her.
Were Mauser selling actions Not heat treated to Makers? Would the adition of colour case hardening applyed to a already heat treated rifle make it stronger?
Any history on Small fry German smiths would be of huge value.
