dirtyjim, It's the entire rifle sans stock, not just the bottom metal. When the rifle was restored/refinished, a plain walnut replacement stock was fitted and the original stock was probably sold. The copy of the ledger entry indicates the original rifle was a Best Quality so there should be some nice wood under those dings and gouges. I won't sell it now anyway. I broke the rifle plus there are some other issues and i'm in the process of sending it to Steven Bertram at Bertram & Co. LTD to get it fixed. |
