Re: Mauser 100 year Centenary rifle in .416 Rigby?

475 Rigby:

Huh? Why a pointless excercise?

The rifle more correctly was built to commemorate likely one of the largest contributions to modern shooting yet namely the Model 98 action of Paul Mauser.

The caliber chosen is irrelavent, the action is; and in the form of the double square bridge likely the pinnacle of the Mauser action design.

No matter how we cut it here it's one helluva rifle. I have originals to compare it with and if it were not for the value of the originals I would venture to say this particular rifle is better than an original for any number of reasons.

No more no less !
