Excellent decision. I wouldn't even think about doing anything to this gun other than a chamber cast to confirm the caliber assuming the barrel is not shot out. I wouldn't add a buttplate either, unless it's obvious there was a buttplate there before (screwholes, etc.). There are some good reproductions available. The rifle looks great just the way it is.
