Re: Wondering - has the 476 W-R been chambered in a Mauser?

500 Grains,

Thank you for the reply. I have a few Siamese actions that I have accumulated and there is one for which I have no definite direction at the moment - hence the speculation on what to build on it. One will be a vaguely Rigby style 303 (it already feeds 303 rounds perfectly without any modification to the magazine or anything else) and one will be either a 7.62x54 or a 30-40 Krag. Huvius sent me a lovely heavy barreled 45-70 and that leaves one action. I planned to build a 50-110 on it and load it with smokeless, but later sold the barrel that I had bought off on the advice of another friend who occasionally posts here. That leaves me with this question - hence my post.

Would be happy for suggestions on what big bore round I could have built on this rifle. I am in touch with a young gunsmith in Texas who does very nice work and hope to take this particular project to him to work his magic on once I have decided on what the rifle will be. I am planning on a replica of the Harald Wolf Jungle carbine, only this one will have solid instead of laminate wood.

Good hunting!
