I guess I was trying to keep the feel of the old stock with a 21st Century nod towards the Mauser Oberndorf Type A

Daryl... yes, the action is bedded for about 1" around the front screw and recoil lug and under the rear tang. Front and sides were relieved with tape but the bottom was left in contact... from my experience ZKK's seem to prefer it.

Then around 1" of contact just back from the fore-end, two thin pieces of cardboard were wedged under the barrel as the Devcon set to give a small amount of preload.
