Bob, I see on the left hand side view directly under the L grain end from there back and on the right hand side from the centre of the curve between the comb nose and the rise to the tang and to me this looks like more oid a rift sawn blank where it is half way between a 1/4 sawn and flat sawn blank that to means grain may also be ending on one side as well. It has to me at most a half wrist's thickness or good grain and not something I would want an a rifle.
