And more mystery . . . the butt-stock has a tiny little "broad arrow" with a "T" above it in a little circle, and a 3 digit number beside it. The bolt is as far as I can tell is a commercial bolt with the BU proofs but is not numbered to the rifle. The previous owner knew nothing about the arrow mark, but thought it just possible that the bolt may have been replaced after a house fire in the 1940's. It does make one wonder though if some sort of agency once had the rifle and acting in the sloppy sort of way of the bureaucracy , mixed up some bolts and rifles. Any ideas folks ? |
