Ah, the inevitable "why does a M98 cost so much" question. The M98 is basically the mother(father;) ) of modern bolt-action rifles. With its non-rotating extractor and controlled feed, it is the most reliable dangerous game bolt-action mechanism. You must keep in mind the M98 was developed when labour is cheap. It isnt anymore. The 1,3 kilo action is made from a 15 kilo lump of iron. The Prechtl-Golmatic M98 Magnum action alone can cost up to 6000 dollars. Make of that what you want Axel |
