I shot a large whitetail buck with a 140gr. Combined Tec @ 2,940fps. from my 7x57 BRNO. The buck weighed jsut over 200pounds and the 'soft' bullet worked just fine. I see no real difference in the deer here - both can be large.

About any bullet in the 8x57 will work great as well. The 175gr. Sierra's are probably exceptionally accurate as are most Sierra's. With deer as my object of interest & with possibility of longe shots, that's what I'd use. The 150gr. Sierras would work for open country as well. I really don't see any deer as needing Nosler or other premium bullets. Even a 30/30 or RP factory 8x57 easily 'takes' deer.
