Rough as a cob, but a nice find indeed.

Very badly covered with rust at one time, but brushed off with steel wool nicely, leaving only blemishes, for the most part. Totally recoverable.

The stock can be repaired quite easily, and re-finished with it's well earned wear and tear. I'd not replace it at all and would surely entertain the idea of a rust-blue over it's entire outside surface.
