Hi, John -

Hadn't seen that article in quite awhile...thanks for resurrecting it.

I've been shooting my .338-06 for almost 25years now and it (LITERALLY) has not failed me yet.

Most of the game taken with this rifle have been whitetails. ALL OF THEM have dropped to the shot!

My largest deer to date was taken with this rifle with a 250gr Sierra BT. This deer was right at 150-yards, slightly quartered-on when the Sierra hit EXACTLY between two ribs (on the on-side) and just barely knicked a rib going out. But this buck hit the ground - HARD! BTW, after field-dressing, this buck weighed in at 286-pounds.

While I have taken maybe too much game with too many other calibers, I can honestly say that I only needed the .338-06.
