Military Mauser was what I was aiming at.

One of the things which I find interesting is the high percentage of people who go Mauser for the 404 while Model 70 seems to be the popular choice for a 375 H&H custom. Perhaps being able to buy a Model 70 in 375 H&H as a starting point is the reason especially if the rifle is to be a lower cost custom gun.
