I am offered to buy a Mauser 98 mechanism with a octagon barrel. Its octagon halfpart and then the rest is round. It looks alright inside. The man who is selling it is a good technician and has his own gun store, in the past he worked at Kongsberg, Norway. It will be polished and blued. The calibre is 10,75x68. Its made september 1925.
