The external finish of the Interarms Mk X (or Whitworth) is good, but the interior needs polishing. The feeding ramp usually needs polishing or will scratch brass. The bolt movement is also improved by polishing. These are easy to do. The accuracy is usually good since they used the good German Bohler steel barrels. The 798 and Charles Daly Zastavas are a step down in internal finish. I had a 375 H&H Daly/Zastava and there was no bedding in the stock. The barrel was partially freefloated except where it touched the side of the stock in one place. I bedded it properly and accuracy remarkedly increased. The early 98's are quality. The Argentine 1909's also have fine bottom metal which is the detraction of most military guns. The Commercial FN's are superb. This includes the Sears model 50's which can be turned into very nice custom guns. |
