Re: Why such a price?

Quote:

I look at this rifle @ $9500 and see a `98 with a flash stock in a big bore, the extra`s are basically a few bucks worth so IMO I cant see any justifiable reason for the price, anyone help out?

Comments Beautiful custom English style big game rifle, Timney trigger, Recknagel bottom metal, optic fibre front bead, spare brass bead, exhibition grade walnut stock with buffalo horn capes.

Complete with a number of once fired Bertram and Horneber brass, approx 40 loaded rds, two boxes Woodleigh projectiles, two leather ammo pouches and RCBS full length dies with shell holder

One most similar at a gun show here last Spring .505 Gibbs - priced at $9,000 US - I looked it over and for a modern rifle, it looked quite well and nicely made except the inletting left wood boss around inlets - worth perhaps a couple thousand to $2,500 at most imho, of course, considering all the paraphenalia.

You can get just as nicely and well made a rifle, for $9,000 but it has 2 barrels.

If you were going to spend almsot 10 grand, you could get a real rifle.
