Justin, don´t know if this helps, in the blue book 2008, Brazil Mausers 1908, two configs, short rifle and rifle between $650-$1000 depending on condition (these prices from 95% condition up) which is inline with the german mausers price wise of same era but some rare exceptions. I don´t see why it should be soft !? Prices above are for complete rifles, best, Mike
