I contacted the Mauser factory before buying and one of the questions and answers was a wooden stock by itself was not purchasable, the most basic unit was an action and stock.

Maybe the local dealer says differently?

A nice custom stock designed to fit is a nice option though. On a Mauser 98 certainly, why not on a M03 as well.

Thanks for the information. The 6.5x65 sounds like it has as many issues as the 68 mm!
