The .275Rigby were mostly made with solded-on frontsight. It makes the gun look trimmer and with a 6" forearm. The eye for the sling were also solded.
In order to get everything right, study pictures of the early british sportingrifles. See their barrelcontours, placement of sights, drop(pitch) of the combs etc. Its all these thngs together that desides the final outcome, for doing a historical re-creation of a classic rifle.
Today, too many gunsmiths trying to make these type guns doesn`t see all these details and the results looks like poor efforts. The stock is too thick, and actually too nice to. Most of these sportingrifles had a good standard straight grain walnut, and nothing else.
