Nice rifle - wonderful calibre and great chuck of walnut on it too.
I'd be replacing that bolt mounted peep with a standard bolt keeper if it was mine. Thoughts of that sight digging into my face might prevent good shooting, but if it's useable in the upright postion and doesn't interfere with the scope's sight picture, I'd leave it. It does look pretty cool on there.
My Swede M46 (m94 action) easily runs 270's at 2,300fps and 285's at 2,200fps. 232gr. Norma Vulcans and Oryx make 2,450fps. All shoot into a 2 1/2" group at 100 meters with same sight setting. Individual groups are 1" or better.

A 98 action in the same calibre would add around 100fps to those speeds - maybe more.
