Interesting, I just picked up a small ring 98 Mauser - suspect it's Mexican - had a rotten 8mm barrel on it - haven't decided what to make it - yet.
7 mauser is a good idea, or 6.5x57 - or, or, or.
I really like the stock on yours rigbymaster, as it's a classic, designed for irons.
