Thank you for the informative reply. Does the classic 404 or 500 Schuler also require removing so much metal from the action?

I don't like the idea of removing steel from the 98, just to make it marginal as a big bore.

I've been looking around the site trying to learn about big bore M98's. Now I've to learn about the 416 Taylor too.
