Some time ago, there ws an article in a Rifle or Handloader (probably Rifle magazine) in which a 98 was re-barreled and set up for the .505 Gibbs. The drop-box magazine held 3 rounds, in a vertical stack with a U shaped support welded to the middle of the mag follower. The action was opened a tich at the front end and at the back, I think.
