I just know that the stamps are german from 1924, and that the style has a typical sauerkraut scent. Much indicates, that it is a low grade rifle without any extras.
Fritz, my bear gun is a commercial 1942-built, Husqvarna M46, small-ring 94 action in 9.3x57. It weighs 6 pounds and is a delight to shoot and a real killer to-boot. What you are describing there is my gun's "cousin" in 9x57. A duplicate in every way as far as practicality and ballistics is concerned. Only difference is mine smells a wee bit like lingenberries, not sauerkraut...
Anyhow, you'll really like it if you get it!
