Well, glad I could get your day off to a good start Peter! I have spoken to bouldersmith at length on this gun, and he feels it could be done properly without huge issues. Fill in the holes, recut engraving etc. Also, the peep is a period piece I think, so not out of place on this gun. The barrel contour looks OK and the wood is actually really good IMO. Marrakai's comment on the front ring screw has to be correct - the vendor said it felt like it was binding on something when he attempted to remove the barrel! I can't bitch about Cherry's too much - I did pick up my Lee Speed from them and am totally happy with that. Anyway, the Fraser is priced right for what it is IMO. Cool that it is on a small-ring mauser too. There must be somebody here whom can return it to it's former glory... I offered $2500, but they didn't budge |
