byf Stock

If anyone has or runs across a byf stock I have an old Mauser I'd like to return to it's original looks!

Re: byf Stock

Have you tried Ebay? There is so many Russian Re-worked K-98's coming in. Some gunsmith will be sure to have one left over from a sporter conversion...

Re: byf Stock

byf stands for an Obendorf Mauser.
More exactly -Mauser-Werke KG, Oberndorf on the Neckar.

My rifle is stamped byf 44.

Re: byf Stock

Rusty,

Shall it be a wood stock or veener/plywood? Only stock or one with hardware?

Cheers
Johan

Re: byf Stock

I have some of the hardware, however if I could come across the whole package it would be nice hand guard and metal butt cap. I thing the oridinal was laminated?

Re: byf Stock

Rusty,

I've got the stock from a byf mauser a relative liberated from Germany during WWII. I hadn't shot it in years and last year converted it to a 26" 7x57 sporter using one of the Midway stocks. Seemed a shame to discard the stock...

Send me the info on where to ship it and I'll send it to you, you can just refund the shipping cost.
