A seller here in Canada has offered me this rifle for a reasonable price. He has suggested it is a Model C, he is open to communicating, seems reasonable and has many positive trader raters and generally seems like a nice guy. I do not own John speeds book and I have a few concerns. The lack of a banner or step in the barrel, the bolt handle has no markings on the flat and I thought Model C were generally curved? There is also the lack of markings. Anyone have any opinions? |

think an original oberdorf made rifle would have been marked this way |

The bolt handle looks right but that's all. |

I don't see anything that would lead one to the conclusion that this is a TypeC Oberndorf Sporter. The bolt looks OK but doesn't have proper proofmarks on the root or anywhere else on the gun for that matter. The stock has been broken and crudely repaired - then checkered over the repair behind the grip in an effort to conceal the repair. The buttplate is Military. With all of the inexpensive Husqvarnas available in Canada, I'd pass on this rifle at an equal price. |

Conor 90, I saw that Mauser as well. It just reaffirms the description is often not what is for sale, especially with Mausers. You have to ask the buyer questions. I once texted a seller who was advertising a Mauser 98 that it was a 95, but he wouldn't believe me. I told him, "dude, it says Mauser Chileno Modelo 1895 in your photo!" Mauser are fun. Thanks |

I paid $275.00 for mine. It will be a 6.5x55, 8MM or 9.3x57. Could also be a .30/06 or 9.3x62. They were sold in model 96's (94's) or 98's. This one looks like a 96(94). The bolt sleeve almost looks like a 98, but appears to me, to be a wee bit long. Sights, forend, stock all look like a Husky to me. |
