Contact for history of a Holland and Holland

Has anyone got an email for the right person at H&H to contact regarding the history of one of their rifles?

If I can get more details I’ll post pics in due course

Email holland gun department. They will facilitate for you. Cost I forget, 20 or 40 pound?. Turnaround time very quick.

I think the last one I got was 30 quid and Andrew Ambrose responded. That was 2011.

My doubles came with ledger details. Although I did correspond with H&H about the extra 375 Flanged Mag barrels with my 500/450 3 1/4" Royal and they confirmed they made them but couldn't give much more detail than that. From the shop number on the forend lug it matched the range in the 1950's.

I tried to get the history of my Dominion 375 x 2.5" (maybe 12 months ago), they keep telling me that the database is down and they have no access to any records.
I've since heard that they don't want to "bother" looking up the history of a Dominion, only a Royal...
Hope that's not the case?

450 I doubt that.

They sent me the history of my 1913 375 Belted magazine rifle.

I am surprised though. Did you order the history and pay the money? I think there used to be somewhere on their website, but can’t be sure now.

Mmmm, the thick plottens.

This is the link to click on gun research, but doesn’t work any more! Scroll to the bottom of the page.

Maybe you could contact Donald Dallas, he has written books an H&H and other gunmakers etc., and good books they are, or perhaps online to Diggery Hadoke etc. They would know what is going on. It would be a shame if we have lost this historical resource.

If you are just looking for dates and a few specs, just call them.
They can give you some information right over the phone.
Especially useful when determining manufacture dates.
