I just read this advertisement on the Cordite.com website: Magnum Actions Australia Melbourne Victoria Australia smurray@vtown.com.au I sell new made 'Magnum Mauser Double Flat Bridge Actions' all calibres. These are exact reproductions of the classic Mauser Magnum and have been purchased by Holland & Holland and Purdey. Exporting to USA on regular basis. Would anyone here know anything about them? Mehul, Could these perhaps be actions made by Prechtl in Germany that the guy imports to Australia? H&H get their actions from him according to what he once wrote me. Here's a quote from one of Prechtls e-mails to me: "We produce rifles only for our customers and for MAUSER. Johannsen, english and austrian gunsmiths ( Holland &Holland, Rigby,Westley Richards, Habmrusch, Hauptmann, Just, Hofer),african gunsmithes like Sabi Werkswinkel, Truvelo, produce their own rifles with our actions." Or, I could be wrong, and the Aussie guy does make actions that I haven't heard of! Erik D. |

I had gotten the impression that the Vektor Mag. Mauser actions had stopped being produced recently? Does anyone know if this is correct? Erik D. |

NitroX, Does Brian Harre have a website? It would be nice to know about his creations. RLI, I remember the beautiful Selous Rifles website of the past but it has closed down and is only accessible through archive.org these days. I would be grateful if you offered any link to the company or news about their activities today as well as any other information that you may have about them. It is sad when a gunmaker has to lose down and I hope that Erik D's query on the Vektor (which I have also heard) isn't true. If Vektor are planning to close down production of the actions, I wish that they would sell the machinery to someone who would manufacture them.. Good hunting and thanks for keeping the Selous flame burning! |
