Polish K98 Quality? Now with photos

Would anyone be able to comment on the Polish made Mausers? I haven't been able to find any threads that talk about the quality, or lack of quality, of the Mausers made there. I recently bought a small ring K98 sporter in 308 Winchester originally built at the Radom factory in 1930. It has been drilled and tapped and I'm not sure when it was converted to a sporter. It has a Parker Hale wing safety for scope use. There aren't many proofmarks or maker's marks, but the ones that are there are distinct and haven't been scrubbed. Did any countries convert these to 308 for their military? Thank you for your comments.

Re: Polish K98 Quality?

I know that many early Weatherby rifles, prior to the introduction of the Mk V action, were built on Polish 98 actions. Roy specifically listed them as a top choice.

Re: Polish K98 Quality?

That's interesting, azmunk. There doesn't seem to be a lot of info about them on the web. I've attached a few photos that the seller sent me. The rifle isn't very heavy, 7 3/4 lbs. scoped. I thought it might make a good poor weather rifle when I didn't take out one of the older ones.
