Hey Gentlemen,

Dad got the rifle back in the early sixties and the fellow who had originally bought the gun also had his receipt which Dad still has somewhere and I was thinking it was in 47. As usual though , i put my cart before the horse and was looking as Speed's book tonight and it states they started cutting out the ring in 48. I'll check the gun tomorrow because i just can't remember if it's cut or not but the number is 3337X. The scope was on the rifle when he got it and Dad has killed a couple deer with it. It doesn't have adjustments but just kinda goes with the gun but it's a far cry from what we have available today.
