By chance I took 180 gr Spitzer Partitions and 200 gr Semi Pointed Partitions. Shot to a similar point of impact.

My batch of 180s, normally reputed to be a very good bullets were failing. Acting like a FMJ. I believe the front half was blowing off in a shallow wound. The shank acted ike a FMJ. Wounded animals with follow ups. I switched to the 200 grs immediate improvement. Judea, the tracker thought it was a different rifle.

But I used the same handloads of 180 grs on my sambar stag. No problems. Ran less than 50 metres and crashed down dead in the middle of a blackberry patch.
