I agree with lancaster: This rifle was proofed by the Prague, Czechoslovakia proofhous in 1924. The Ferlach mark was NPF. But I disagree on "a local gunmaker": That B was an early mark of the Zbrojovka Brno, the Brno factory. In 1924 they started making M98 actioned rifles, the ZB24, on tooling bought from Mauser, Oberndorf. This is a very early version of a sporting rifle made by the famous Brno factory. It is mounted with a contemporary Austrian Kahles "Heliavier" scope. |
