Congratulations on your beautiful rifle in apparently mint condition, Robin; in addition I had never seen this type of peep-sight mounted on a Mauser sporting rifle.
Your rifle should have been directly exported; this may explain the reason for the "Germany" marking on the stock, and maybe to a lesser extent the combination stutzen & single trigger, then unusual on the Continental Europe market.
