Again the absolute classic Dorleac rifle. One day people will look back and recognise such rifles, and wish they were still made. A long time in the future I hope! And IMO the best 6.5 mm cartridge chambering. Results some modern pretenders can't match even over a hundred years later. Used in war, on countless elgs, algs and moose. Still used in some military sniper rifles such as the CZ. And perfectly suitable for a smaller medium bore sporting rifle. The .243 and .25 were rightfully very popular in Australia where most game is not large nor require a heavy rifle. I have always considered the 6.5x55 a step up in effectiveness. And if the silly Victorian bureaucrats had not made the .270 the minimum for red stag and sambar, the 6.5x55 with a 160 gr RNSP would make an effective sambar killer. |
