That rifle was a standard length action!
The fact that many hundreds, if not thousands, of standard length Mausers were opened up for the .375 H&H and the .404 Jeffery without incident would suggest they were adequate. Not perfect, sure. Maybe not even desirable. But certainly adequate.
For me, one of these in .404 Jeffrey would be prefect...
