It's difficult to tell if the receiver has a stepped receiver ring or if the step is in the barrel. However, I believe it is the latter, since all the stepped ring actiona I have seen are single square bridge, like my .350 Rigby Magnum.

The Rigby cocking piece sight might be a good option for this rifle, since the caliber clearly has longer range potential than the open sights can take advantage of.
