This will be a very difficult decision to arrive at. Either leave exactly as it is, or cleaned etc to the point of as best one can get out of refurbishing rather than a full restoration job.
Considering Ahmed's battery, those are new rifles - this one is a different generation & will have history; another 'breed' altogether.
Might be a job for Mr D...I think he would definitely be up to the task!
