A few minutes work with a wood rasp will eliminate that objection. Oh, and some 80 grit paper... 
Yeah, but it's probably got some cast on. Ruined for normal (not LH) people!

Cast on may be a problem, but again, maybe not. I once had a LH rifle with cast on and my eye lined up perfectly (Right hand).
