very early repeating rifle, must be a by-product of the mauser's attempt to build a working military rifle with tubular magazin. since the advent of the Fruwirth carbine http://forums.nitroexpress.com/showflat....true#Post249526 there were many trials to find the new big thing. would be interesting to see if the tubular magazin was made like the Kropatschek. there is a strong connection between Alfred Ritter von Kropatschek and the Mauser brothers in this time when Kropatschek use the Mauser 71 receiver and Mauser use the Kropatschek tubular magazine for the Mauser 71/84 and the Kropatschek M 1886. |
