Gentlemen, and especially Lancaster, I am sorry to report that my aquired rifle (S/N 905) from M. Lietzau is NOT in 10,75x57 caliber but in 10,75x68. I found this out after having fired the first shot (modified case in 10,75x57) in this rifle: the case looked rather strange afterwards! To make a long story short, the chamber cast proved that the chamber is a (another) 10,75x68. The previous owner said upon request that he has bought the rifle in caliber 10,75 and thought that it was a x57 because the extractor claw of the standard head size 8x57 fitted. As it came out, the extractor was first missing and the pre-owner had only an original 8x57 extractor on stock, so the wrong one was assembled and gave the impression that the rifle must be a 10,75x57. So, I am still looking for a 10,75x57! Any offers are welcome (seriously)! best regards Rolf |
